My experimentation with pottery clay began as a way to explore the transformation from a flat presentation to a 3D object, and how this transformation affects the way we view the work.
Through intentional placement, my sculpture pieces seem to speak louder as a collective than they do individually. When separated, they appear to be plain and quiet objects, which mirrors my view of relationships. Even though the objects and figures are all removable individuals, I have not pictured them apart. It is this intentional placement that gives the pieces their louder sense and greater meaning.
